BIO
I am an enthusiastic biologist working in the field of metabolomics and biomarker discovery. Currently, I am a Ph.D. scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay working under the supervision of Prof. Pramod Wangikar. My Ph.D. project involves performing untargeted metabolomics for biomarker discovery in Diabetes mellitus using LCMS and GCMS. The new biomarker/s discovered may help in the early diagnosis of the disease in the Indian population.
EDUCATION
2014-2016
M.SC ( BIOCHEMISTRY)
I have obtained masters from " The Maharaja SayajiRao University of Baroda", Vadodara, Gujarat"
2011-2014
B.SC (BIOTECHNOLOGY)
I have obtained a bachelors degree from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand Gujarat
EXPERIENCE
Roles & Responsibilities
June 2017-November 2017
RESERCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, MERIL DIAGNOSTIC, VAPI
My work was to develop different ELISA kits. I had worked with developing Dengue NS1 ELISA kits. My role includes standardizing the ELISA method for Dengue NS1 detection- such as standardizing sample volume,
PROJECTS
PH.D. THESIS PROJECT
An Untargeted Metabolomics for novel biomarker discovery in Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic, gradually progressive metabolic disorder that later develops into life-threatening complications. Current biomarkers used for diabetes such as fasting blood sugar, glycated HBA1C, Oral glucose tolerance test are the diagnostic biomarkers and does not provide idea of prediabetic state which arises ~10 years ahead of the disease or about its future complications such Diabetes kidney disease and Diabetes cardiovascular disease. We aim to find new biomarkers that can predict Diabetes years before its onset and about its future complications such as diabetes-related chronic kidney disease and diabetes-related cardiovascular disease.

M.SC DISSERTATION PROJECT
Role of TNFA and ADIPOQ polymorphisms in Type 2 diabetes mellitus in Gujarat Population
The prevalence of diabetes is very high in the Gujarat region of India. The study aimed at assessing single nucleotide polymorphisms which may be responsible for making the population more prone to Diabetes. We identified that ADIPOQ +45 T/G is strongly linked with Type 2 diabetes mellitus in Gujarat population.
